About The Super Lambanana

In 2008, Liverpool won the Capital of Culture award leading to 125 Super Lambanana’s being dotted around the city.
The Super Lambanana design was created by Taro Chiezo, inspired by the dangers of genetically modified food.
The design also corresponds well with Liverpool’s own culture, having a very important port which imported Fyffe’s banana’s. sheep and many other items.
The Super Lambanana weighs 8.1 tonnes and is 17 feet tall.
