About The Royal Liver Building:
The Royal Liver Building opened in 1911 and is a grade I listed building, located in the heart of Liverpool.
It was originally the headquarters for the Royal Liver Assurance Group, which helped families who had lost a wage earning relative.
The Royal Liver Building cost £800,000 to build and is part of the Three Graces, which also consists of the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building.
The Liver Birds, on top of the building, are 18 feet tall and are the subject of many myths and legends.
Some believe that the birds are chained to the Liver Building, as if they were to fly away, the city of Liverpool would flood.
