History of the Liver Bird 

The Liver Bird is the well-known symbol of Liverpool, and has been for over 800 years.
Local legend says that one of the birds looks out to sea to protect the sea men and the other over the city, to protect the citizens of Liverpool.
They can be found on top of the Liver Building, situated on Liverpool’s waterfront.
